Dear CoNAC’er
As guidance and recommendations regarding Covid-19 continue to change in the wider world, I wanted to ensure that all members are clear on the current guidance from our governing body England Athletics. As an affiliated club we must abide by their guidance.
England Athletics current guidance says:
People should continue to train and exercise in groups of up to 6 adhering to social distancing.
For organised club training, the group of up to 6 includes the coach, so a maximum of 5 athletes can train together. Parents and spectators must keep their distance from the training session, and should also be sure to follow social distancing measures.
People should continue to adhere to the 2m guidance.
Current government guidance says people should stay 2m apart or 1m+ (1m plus mitigations, such as wearing a face covering, etc). But England Athletics guidance is to maintain a 2m distance.
A register is taken to support any track and trace needs at a future date.
This also helps us check that all athletes have renewed their membership – you must be a current member to train with the club.
Thank you for your support in following these guidelines – without it we would not be able to provide training at all.
Looking to the future, we are awaiting updated guidance from England Athletics, which we will share once we receive it.
There is also now a reopening date for the Sportspark – Monday 27 July. Please be aware this will not be back to ‘business as usual’ – we are working with them to determine what will be possible to keep everyone safe and within the guidelines. We will let you know more as soon as possible.
Yours in Sport, Tony
