ABOUT THE CLUB
OUR HISTORY
City of Norwich AC is one of the largest and most successful clubs in the United Kingdom with over 700 members. The club was formed in 1996 by the amalgamation of Duke Street RC and Norfolk Olympiads AC.
We have nurtured athletes of all capabilities, some joining us from their childhood and others much later in life.
We are proud to boast a fine history and have even seen team members represent Great Britain at major championships including the Olympics, Paralympics and the Commonwealth Games.
CHARITY STATUS & OBJECTIVES
In October 2016, the growing and thriving club became a registered charity, number 1168190.
Our charitable aim is:
“For the public benefit the advancement of amateur sport by promoting athletics for the benefit of the inhabitants of Norwich and the surrounding area; and the provision of facilities for the coaching and performance of athletics for the benefit of the inhabitants of Norwich and the surrounding area with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants”
Our strategic objectives are:

- Provide an inclusive development, mentoring and support structure to develop athletes of all ages and abilities.
- Provide competitive opportunity for all members and all abilities.
- To support all activities across the key disciplines of Track & Field, Cross Country and Road Running.
- Structured and supportive environment to develop coaching, officials and volunteers in support of all club objectives and activities.
- Be an organisation that people are proud to represent, manage and be members of.
- To consider and prioritise athlete, coach and volunteer wellbeing in all that we do.

As a club we take a “Zero Tolerance” approach towards conduct at all times. This means that if someone steps out of line, they should expect to be spoken to about their behaviour and asked to modify it where the club deems the behaviour to be unacceptable. We hope that such instances will be very few and far between but we will not fail to act if something is brought to our attention that needs to be dealt with.
