I wanted to say how privileged I feel to have been asked a while back to take on the chair role at CoNAC.
It’s been a fantastic year for the club, and I can’t begin to say how proud I am, not only of our athletes but of our coaches, officials and volunteers who make it all possible.
Some of you may know that there is a very small group on the executive committee who work countless hours to ensure that all areas of the club work together, I’m incredibly lucky to have the support of Sarah, Richard, Hugh, Lawrence, Peter and Granville who with their skills and experience both within and outside of the club help me to make the decisions that I need to.
This would probably be a very long post if I’m honest, detailing all of the amazing achievements that we have seen from our athletes over the past year so I’ve picked just a few however full details can be read in the clubs Trustees Annual Report which can be found here
- In track and field we have probably had one of our best ever seasons in EYAL, the best year ever in the league since records began in EAL and in SAL we finished 4th in a league of over 100 hundred clubs! We’ve seen some fantastic individual achievement as well as some incredible developments in our younger athletes.
- In Road Running we staged three road races, The Lord Mayor’s 5k City Centre Classic, City of Norwich Half Marathon and Trowse 10K. We have been well represented in lots of other road races including the Round Norfolk Relay. Again, our juniors performed well in the Southern and National road relays.

Again we have seen some brilliant individual achievements from our runners this year.
- In Sportshall we dominated the Sportshall champs with many of our athletes selected to represent the county, in fact out of 38 athletes, 23 are from CoNAC. We have 4 teams going to the Sportshall final which will be held in Manchester in April, U13 Girls and Boys and U15 Girls and Boys.
- In cross country our U15 Girls won the nationals title and our senior men finished 6th overall.
