Lyndsay Yellop, coach, team manager, athlete, parent of athletes!
I started out as part of Norfolk Olympiads AC, a forerunner to the newly formed team of City of Norwich AC. This change was an exciting step, not least because of the hype surrounding what our new kit would look like. A few ‘interesting’ designs were trialled before the decision was finally made to go with the yellow and red stripes we have now, a good choice!
Things were a little different then. For one there was no Sportspark building, just the big mound of grass and the clubhouse. There was no Power of 10 either, just the bible that was the Athletics Weekly magazine.

The senior men’s and women’s teams competed separately originally. The women’s team were actually pretty good. We won the Southern Womens League as Norfolk Olympiads in 1994 and competed in the UK league for a while, travelling around the UK for competitions.

Matching sweatshirts were part of the kit!
