After a full year of disruption, it looks as though we should have some track and field competition in 2021!
CoNAC competes in T&F team competition in three leagues, and all of those are planning competition for this year, albeit looking a little different to normal. All have proposed a reduced number of matches (to tie in with restrictions being relaxed), and all have reorganised for one year only into smaller local divisions to minimise travel.
There will be no league matches before the middle of June. That means there should be plenty of time to get back into training before anyone is asked to compete. There are also various Open Meetings being planned before then – some local, some further afield. For our younger athletes, there should hopefully be some QuadKids competitions later in the summer. Once we get back into group training, coaches will work with their athletes to assess where they are, and plan competition to ensure whatever they take part in is at the right level for them.
We will also need plenty of hands on deck to help with competition this year. Check out our volunteering page to see more about what’s involved. The league plans, subject to change of course, are as follows:
