13th edition: Sunday 30 October 2016, start 9am – we hope to open registration on Friday 1 July
This 10k road race is based at the Norfolk Snowsports Club in Whitlingham Lane, Trowse on the southern outskirts of Norwich. The first twelve editions took place on Easter Sunday each year but from the autumn of 2016 the race will be held on the last Sunday of October. We have an entry limit of 700 and usually sell out several months before race day.
Competitors run beside Whitlingham Broad before following a two-lap route along quiet roads through the heart of Trowse and close to Whitlingham Hall. This race has become a real value-for-money event with beautiful scenery and great viewing opportunities for supporters and spectators.
We couldn’t stage this race without lots of cooperation and support from a number of organisations. Our grateful thanks go to the Whitlingham Charitable Trust, the Broads Authority, the Crown Point Estate Office, NPS Property Consultants Ltd, St John Ambulance, Norfolk Snowsports Club, St Andrew’s Church, Macmillan Cancer Support, Whitlingham Broad Campsite and the residents of Trowse for helping to make this event possible each year.
The minimum age for this event is 16 years on race day. No devices with headphones or earbuds may be worn while racing.
Registration for our 13th edition will open on Friday 1 July … UKA club members £14, unattached runners £16. Every finisher will receive a unique medal and goody bag.
Our Race Director is Richard Polley – please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like any further information about this event.
