Young Athletes Welfare

Message from Granville Courtnell, CoNAC Chairman, December 2016 – “Our child welfare procedures at CoNAC have worked well to date. These are regularly reviewed and will of course embrace any good practice which might emerge from the upcoming FA investigations.

If you ever have a concern about a child welfare issue then please contact Paul Howard in complete confidence”.

CoNAC’s Young Athletes Welfare Team

Our priority is to ensure that everyone at City of Norwich AC is able to enjoy their athletics in a safe and supportive environment.

Our qualified coaches are all trained in how to deal with young people and all are regularly checked with the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). And every volunteer who is training to become a coach with CoNAC is supervised by a suitably qualified coach at all times.

Paul Howard is our Young Athletes Welfare Officer – please contact him in complete confidence if you ever have a concern with regard to the welfare of a young athlete – you can call him on 07768 353810 or click here to send him an email.

Paul recently retired from a senior position with Norfolk Constabulary and now delivers a variety of different training programmes on behalf of the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Board for both professionals and people in the community who work with children. As such he is ideally placed to lead our Young Athletes Welfare Team and guide us as we strive to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
