The club had an outstanding day at the Norfolk Cross Country Championships at Thetford.
In the senior men’s 10.7 km race Piers Arnold led the way home with Scott Greeves 3rd and James Senior 4th. The club also won the team title and supplied the third team as well.
In the senior women’s race Kelly Grant retained her county title with Isabel Rodriguez in second place. Jane Clark was first to finish in the F50-54 masters category and Sarah Adcock third in the F40-44 class.
Jack White was in fine form to win the under 17 men’s 6.4km race with Ben Horton 6th.
There was a clean sweep in the under 17 ladies race with Rachel Bruce 1st, Milie Solway 2nd, Lucy Emmett 3rd and Siew Yen Loke 4th. The team win was a formality. and the first two places in the ladies under 20 race went to Amy Clarke and Alice Rees with Jack Adcock second in the under 20 men’s category.
In the under 15 boys race William Mahoney took first place with Rhys Foster 3rd and Ben Thorpe 9th to record yet another team win.
Nelly Porter was in outstanding form in the 4.2k race with Meredith Winship 2nd and Katie Goldsmith 3rd. Such was the strength of the club in this age group that they occupied the first four team places, an unprecedented level of success.
This continued in the under 13 girls race with Grace Jermy 1st, Grace Foster 2nd and Holly Bunn 3rd. The club again had the first two team places. In the under 13 boys Danny Adam was 1st with Joshua Knights second leading to yet a another team title. Joe Machin was 4th in the under 11boys race and helped the team to 2nd place. In the under 11 girls race Madison finished 1 st with Esme Abbott taking second place.
